Yogi, Seven Seas Blues win

DUBAI - Yogi Group and Seven Seas Blues scored victories in the 10th Shijna Cricket Cup 2010, organised by Seven Seas Sports Club and held under the auspices of Dubai Cricket Council, at the Seven Seas ground in Dubai Investment Park.

Seven Seas Blue beat Habib Bank AG Zurich by 72 runs. Batting first, Seven Seas Blue scored 179 for 5 in 20 overs. Farhan and Minhas hit quickfire 35s, and supported well by skipper Hormazd who scored a solid 28. Ali took two wickets giving away only eight runs.

Chasing, Habib Bank AG Zurich never got going as only Naveed (26) and Ali (24) could get into double figures. Farhan followed up his batting with 4 wickets for 15, while Ali picked up 3 for 14. Farhan was declared man-of-the-match.

Yogi Group got off to a good start, winning both their games on the same day. In the first game, they beat Jotun Paints by 6 wickets.

Batting first, Jotun Paints scored 167 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Rohan top scored with 44, while Azhar, Bilal, Usman and Irfan all scoring useful 20s. Razik picked up 3 wickets for only 7 runs, and Ambey took 2 for 32.

Yogi hit the winning run in 19.5 overs losing 4 wickets. Man-of-the-match Ambey scored a solid 61 while Prabhodan made 36. Irfan picked up 3 wickets for 27.

In the second game, Yogi Group beat Seven Seas Blue by 83 runs. Batting first this time, Yogi Group scored 240-5. Ambey (56), Avadoot (65 not out) and Sandeep (44 no out) did the bulk of the scoring. Visakh took 4 wickets giving away only 37 runs.

Seven Seas Blue could manage only 157-7 with Afzal being the top scorer with a composed 55.
