It was a definite victory for Tasmania in the one-day match against Victoria for the Marsh Cup until their fate took an unexpected turn.
What seemed like an easy chase of 186 with just 5 runs needed to win from 11 overs with 5 wickets in hand, Tasmania lost by 1 run. According to reports in Cricket Next, on September 23, at the WACA in Perth, Tasmania lost the match by a whisker when all the 5 remaining wickets were lost in just 10 balls, scoring just three runs.

Trouble for Tasmania started with pacer Jackson Coleman getting James Faulkner caught at third man in the first ball of the 40th over. Coleman bagged two more wickets in the same over, dismissing opener Ben McDermott for 78 and Gurinder Sandhu for 1.
The quick wicket loss finally ended with pacer Chris Tremain dismissing Jackson Bird and Nathan Ellis.
