Uganda Well Poised against UAE

ABU DHABI - Uganda were cruising well in reply to a strong total from UAE on the second day of the four-day ICC Intercontinental Shield cricket tournament at the Shaikh Zayed stadium on Thursday.

The hosts managed to add another 47 runs to their overnight tally of 314 to finish their first innings at 361 in 117 overs.

Overnight centurion Naeemuddin Aslam who was unbeaten on 120 made 152 before being caught by Nsubuga Frank off Arinaitwe Davis. The partnership between Shoaib Sarwar and Qasim Zubair added 65 runs for the last wicket.

In reply, Uganda were well poised with 229 for three in 74 overs when the stumps were drawn. The visitors began confidently with R Mukasa (46) and AS Kyobe (49) adding 77 runs for the first wicket.
