William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana were tottering at 43 for 4 before Mohammed Shafiq and Asim Khurshid arrested the slide with a 54-run stand for the fifth wicket. Khurshid made 49 from 33 balls with four boundaries and two sixes, while wicketkeeper-batsman Mohd. Nissan captain Mohammed Usman took three for 30, while Razik Khan took two for 20.
In reply, Al Masaood’s top order were rock solid as openers Razik Khan and Sajit Kumara put on 99 runs for the opening wicket.
Razik Khan scored 78 from 43 balls with seven boundaries and six sixes, while Sajit Kumara made 28 from 33 balls with four boundaries.
Captain Mohammed Usman made 22 from 17 balls with two boundaries and a six as Nissan got home in 17 overs, losing four wickets. The first edition of the Carpetland Ramadan Cup, drew 20 teams from different emirates.
