Sri Lanka opt to bat as India miss Yuvraj, Gambhir

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first on the opening day of the second cricket test against India on Monday.

Sri Lanka made four changes to the team that won the first test at Galle, bringing in Ajantha Mendis, Dilhara Fernando, Dammika Prasad and Suraj Randiv in place of Muttiah Muralitharan, Lasith Malinga, Chanaka Welegedara and Rangana Herath. Off-spinner Randiv will make his test debut.

India have made two changes, replacing Gautam Gambhir (knee) with Murali Vijay and Yuvraj Singh (high fever) with Suresh Raina, who will be making his test debut after appearing in 98 one-day internationals.

Sri Lanka lead the three-test series 1-0.
