New Zealand are missing several top players due to the Indian Premier League
“Sreesanth has been fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Sreesanth pleaded guilty to a level 1 offence which relates to showing dissent at an umpire’s decision,” IPL said in a statement.
Match referee Srinivas Venkataraghavan fined Sreesanth 20 percent ($9,000) of his match fee for the offence.
The incident took place in the third over of the Rajasthan Royals innings when Sreesanth was twice no-balled and was hit by Michael Lumb for a four in the free-hit.
This infuriated the bowler who first clapped at Lumb and then at the umpires.
