The tour, their second of the year after having visited the United Kingdom just months back, is a part of the Sharjah Cricket Council’s initiative to create playing healthy opportunities for young enthusiasts.
The Sharjah team will be based in Matale and will play a total of 10 matches against schools, academies and district outfits in the under-13 and under-16 age groups to hone their competitive edge.
“Sri Lanka has great infrastructure and base for the game. Their school cricket is very competitive and popular. Playing against their juniors will be a great experience for our budding players,” said Mazhar Khan of the Sharjah Cricket Council.
