Seven Seas and Golden Line progress in Shijana Cup

DUBAI - Seven Seas beat Enoc and Golden Line beat Zultec C.C. to reach the finals of the 11th Shijana Cricket Cup 2011-2012.

In the first semi-final, Golden Line defeated Zultec by 22 runs.

Batting first, Golden Line scored a decent 213 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 25 overs.

Opener Ateeq shone for Golden Line, with his excellent knock of 93, which comprised of 11 4’s and a six.

Andre and Naseem contributed with their 29 each, respectively; whilst Mohd. Aslam and Nasir bagged 2 wickets each for Zultec.

Chasing, Zultec collapsed at 191, in 19.3 overs. Kush struck with 4 wickets, whilst Andrew and Naeems claimes 2 wickets each. Zultec’s batting remained unimpressive as Raheem and Haseeb top-scored with 37 and 34 respectively.

In the second semi-final, Seven Seas claimed an easy victory over Enoc, defeating them by 7 wickets.

Batting first, Enoc scored a mediocre total of 158 in 24.5 overs. Rasheed played some impressive shots, scoring 69, which comprised of 5 4’s and a six. Farhan remained the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 6 wickets; whilst Freddy Sidhwa took 2 and Kashif and Salman grabbed a wicket each.

It was a comfortable chase for Seven Seas, who attained the target of 160 in 19.4 overs. Opener Qader Nawaz played an admirable knock of 54, which comprised of 5 4’s and a six, and coming in at number 5, Hasnain Raza played an excellent knock of 55, comprising of 8 4’s.
