Nasir Brilliance Takes Nucaf to Semifinal

Nucaf Tellicherry’s Nasir Aziz produced a match winning knock by scoring 32 runs and took four key wickets to beat Natural Stones by 30 runs in quarter-final of G Force Premier League.

Nucaf will now meet Seven Seas Group in the semifinal, while Yogi Group will face Gayan Steel.

Batting first, Nucaf Tellicherry were bowled out for 126 runs in 18 overs. Nucaf won the toss and batted first, but struggled to score against Noor and Marlon. They bowled beautifully and took four wickets.

Nucaf lost four wickets for 46 and they lost their way in the bid to score quickly. Natural Stone captain Ahmed Nensey brought himself into the attack and his excellent line and top spin bowling troubled every batsmen. He bagged four wickets for 21. Nasir Aziz scored 26 balls from 32 runs and remained as the top scorer.

All the Nucaf bowlers bowled well and restricted Natural Stones to 96 runs in 20 overs. Nasir Aziz took four for 19 from his four overs. Sharan Pinto, Azam and Gopal Jasapara — all left arm spinners did the containment and given away only 56 runs in their allotted 12 overs and picked up three wickets. Right-arm spinner Chawan took three wickets for 19. Nasir won the man of the match award.

The G Force Premier League, presented by Xpress Money, is played under the auspices of Dubai Cricket Council at Zabeel Park.
