Khurshid’s ton eases Gymkhana into final

ABU DHABI - William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana brushed aside NPCC to set up a final showdown with Abu Dhabi Airport Technicians (ADAT) in the Time Electro Contracting division-two tournament on Friday at the Zayed stadium.

Asim Khurshid blasted 151 not out for Abu Dhabi Gymkhana to post 284 for two and then Mohammed Rehan grabbed five wickets to send NPCC crashing to 148 for a resounding 136-run win at the ADCC ground over the weekend.

Khurshid smashed 11 sixes and an equal number of fours. He shared two partnerships, putting on 99 for the opening wicket with Arfan Haider, the UAE international, who made 36 and 154 for the third wicket without being separated with Owais Aftab, who stroked 60 not out.

Asif Khan took four for 25 as ADAT eased to a 71-run win over Darwish bin Ahmed, who were bowled out for 130 in reply to the Airport Technicians’ 201 for seven.

ADAT 201 for 7 in 25 overs (Irfan Dar 39, Saleem Aslam 35, Waseem Shoukat 37, Ahmed Nadeem 44, Eshan Ullah 2-38, Alam Zeb 2-28, Sheraz Gul 2-19) vs Darwish bin Ahmed 130 all out in 20.3 overs (Rehman Gul 39, Irfan Dar 2-31, Ahmed Nadeem 2-29, Sheroz Rana 2-26, Asif Khan 4-25).
