JST Fanatics, Star Light and Interface, all three teams along with Oud Al Anfar have qualified for the semi-finals.
JS Trading, batting first, scored a huge total of 183 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. JS Trading’s opener Ajit Somasekhar top scored with an unbeaten 84 off just 66 balls.
Somasekhar hit a dozen boundaries while no other batsmen with the exception of Ragunath (33) were able to bother the scorers. Mahesh was Sanyo Gulf’s most successful bowler with three wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, Sanyo Gulf FZE fell just nine runs short of what would have been a magnificent chase. Reji led the fightback with a defiant 88 off only 33 balls, including three sixers and nine boundaries.
Reji was involved in a crucial 80 runs partnership for the second wicket with Ajith, who scored 32 off 33 balls. But with no much support from the other batsmen the going got only tougher for Sanyo to surpass the mammoth total.
