Jamshed Hits Fine Century
as UAB Beat Solanki CC

SHARJAH — United Arab Bank, aided by a brilliant century by Jamshed, defeated Solanki CC in a high-scoring match of the Sharjah Invitation Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.

Jamshed smashed 103 as United Arab Bank made a huge 241 for six in the allotted overs. Sohail (36), Afzal (30) and Nadeem (25) were the other main scorers.

Solanki, in reply, were bowled out for 191 in 18 overs despite a fluent 98 by Mohammed Omar. Kashif and Azhar took three wickets each.

Meanwhile, in the Inter-Bank tournament, also organised by Sharjah Cricket Council, Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) won their respective matches against Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays Bank with ease.

Batting first against Royal Bank of Scotland, they scored 187 for seven with Asim Kaleem leading the charge with a fine 79. EIB then bowled out their opponents for 106 with Asim Kaleem doing most of the damage, taking three wickets for 18 runs to seal a big 84-run victory.

EIB kept up their dominance over Barclays Bank as well. They did well to score 218 for six with Khurram (85) and Faizan (57) hammering fantastic half-centuries.

INTER-BANK TOURNAMENT: Emirates Islamic Bank beat Royal Bank of Scotland by 84 runs. Emirates Islamic Bank 187 for seven (Asim Kaleem 79, Ali Asad 31; Rizwan 2-29, Zaheer 2-27) Royal Bank of Scotland 106 all out in 16.2 overs (Zaheer 38; Asim Kaleem 3-18, Kashif 2-30, Naeem Khan 2-12, Usman 2-8).

Emirates Islamic Bank beat Barclays Bank by 79 runs: Emirates. Islamic Bank 218 for six (Khurram 85, Faizan 57; Sameer 2-29, Ishtiaq 2-40) Barclays Bank 139 all out in 19.1 overs (Fardan 43, Salman 38, Noman 23; Naeem Khan 3-26, Kashif 2-24, Usman 2-28).
