Ajmal was named man-of-the-match after his 10-wicket haul as Pakistan thrashed top-ranked England in the first Test on Thursday.

Addressing the media after the match Ajmal said: “I don’t care about the people who question my bowling action.

“It is the job of match officials. I just focus on my bowling and I am enjoying in the middle.

“These sort of accusations don’t disturb me.”

Ajmal has got two 10-wicket hauls in his Test career and when he was asked which is the best one he said both but Misbah interfered by saying this was the best.

Ajmal a jolly figure brought the Press conference to life when he said: “I was looking for my 10th wicket and Umar Gul was after his fifth. “We requested Abdul Rehman please let us finish the job and finally I was the luck one.”

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said: “He was cleared by the International Cricket Council since long.

“After that he has played a lot of cricket, he has represented County cricket as well.

“This bloke is doing his job well and I think rather than finding faults in his action it is a time to acknowledge his achievements.

“His variations make him one of the best off-spinner in the business.”
