Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian cricket team’s remarkable effort Down Under and said that they showed grit, determination, great energy, passion against the Australians.

India won the final Test of the four-match series in Brisbane on Tuesday to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.


“We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. Their remarkable energy and passion was visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination. Congratulations to the team! Best wishes for your future endeavours,” Modi wrote on Twitter.

India won the Test by three wickets.
