Emirates Islamic Bank emerge champions

SHARJAH - Emirates Islamic Bank produced a solid all-round team performance to win the third Inter-Bank League, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at Al Dhaid Cricket Village. In the final, they beat Commercial Bank International by eight wickets, a press release said.

Spearheaded by a good bowling performance by Kashif Ahmed, Emirates Islamic Bank did well to restrict their opponents to a modest score of 111 for seven. Kashif took three wickets for just 28 runs while Faizan Asif, Zain Zulqarnain, Ali Asad and Asim Kaleem picked up one each to seize control of the match. Shajil Balan was the only batsman from Commercial Bank International to offer some resistance to the EIB attack, scoring 39 not out.
