Desert Cubs begin tour with a bang

DUBAI - The Desert Cubs Cricket Academy (DCCA) began their campaign on a winning note defeating Burton Cricket Club (BCC) by six wickets.

Put in to bat, BCC made 118 with Arjun scalping three wickets while Akshay and Aditya picking two each.

In reply, DCCA batting was led by Kirk Vedhasinghe who scored a quick 30. Arjun Ganesh and Varun Bangera contributed later to give the visitors the victory.


The DCCA U-15 team won the second match against Sileby Cricket Club (SCC). Brilliant bowling from Aman and Vishal ensured SCC managed a modest 77 for eight wickets in 20 overs.

DCCA took just 13.2 overs losing only one wicket to achieve the target.


They also recorded a fine win over Wollaton Club.

The under-13 team were were not so lucky as they lost to SCC.

The team led by head coach Presley Polonnowita is on a month-long tour in England and Sri Lanka.
