Batting first on winning the toss, the Super Kings, unbeaten at home in the previous six matches here, never really dominated but were lucky as the Tuskers were rather sloppy in the field with skipper Parthiv Patel muffing two easy stumpings and then having a catch turned down by umpire Rudi Kurtzen.

It was Michael Hussey (32) who benefitted from Kurtzen’s faux pas as he top edged an intended sweep, but did not walk as skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (9) was to do later when caught behind. However, Saha delivered some hefty blows at the death to ensure Super Kings a challenging total as the hosts knocked off 51 runs in the final five overs.
