Butt’s all-round show guides Adma-Opco to last eight

ABU DHABI - Rafiq Butt produced a vintage performance with the bat and ball to lead Adma-Opco to the last eight in the ADCC Twenty20 Summer League division two tournament over the weekend. The veteran all-rounder scored a breezy 40 not out and took four for 19 from his four overs to lead his team to a convincing 96-run win over Bin Ham.

The openers Asim Khurshid and Saqib Shah hit swashbuckling half centuries as William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana made short work of their 126-run target against Abu Dhabi Gentlemen, knocking off the winning runs in just 8.3 overs.

Brief scores: Adma-Opco bt Bin Ham by 96 runs. Adma 212 for 6 in 20 overs (Amir Qureshi 45, Rafiq Butt 40). Bin Ham 117 for 7 in 20 overs (Rafiq Butt 4-19).

William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana bt Abu Dhabi Gentlemen by 9 wickets. Abu Dhabi Gentlemen 125 for 8 in 20 overs (Zeeshan Ahmed 3-18). Abu Dhabi Gymkhana 128 for 1 in 8.3 overs (Asim Khurshid 52 not out, Saqib Shah 88).

Abu Dhabi Airport Technicians bt Pal by 52 runs. ADAT 174 for 5 in 20 overs (Shiran Chaturange 53). Pal 122 all out in 19.3 overs (Nafees Ahmed 4-23).

Al Ain Sportplex bt Babcock by 5 wickets. Babcock 108 all out in 20 overs (Touseef Shah 57, Mohammed Javed 4-21). Al Ain Sportplex 109 for 5 in 15.4 overs.
