Brilliant Danube lift indoor cricket title

DUBAI — In the finals of the Redington-WD cricket league held at Chevrolet Insportz Club, Danube (110) beat Petromann (52), Back To Back (80) defeated Amigos (54), Desert King Waterproofing (97) overcame Knight Riders (89) and Dishkyaon 8 (105) beat Men in Blue (97).

In the premier division main finals, Danube trounced Petromann to retain the league championship, a press release said.

Batting first Petromann could score only 52 in their allotted 16 overs. It was cake walk for Danube who scored 54 in eight overs and went on to score 110 in their allotted 16 overs. Vikrant (5/-16) and Arif 24 were the best bowler and best batsman for Danube. Vikrant of Danube was declared Man of the Match.

In the premier division plate event finals, Back to Back beat Amigos. Back to Back got off to a good start and went on to score 80 in their allotted 16 overs. Neville (18) was the top scorer for Back to Back while Raef (5/-5) was the best bowler for Amigos. After scoring 54 in the first eight overs Amigos could not sustain with the third pair scoring (-14) runs. They went on to score 54 in their allotted 16 overs. Arun (25) was the top scorer for Amigos while Harsh (4/-*7) was the best Bowler for Back to Back. Harsh of Back to Back won the man of the match award.

Desert King Waterproofing overcame a stiff challenge from Knight Riders to win the B division final. Getting off to a blistering start Desert King Waterproofing went on to score 97 in their allotted 16 overs. Mukhtar (35) top scored while Kaku (3/-3) was the best bowler for Desert King Waterproofing. Aamir, Taimoor and Prasanna scored 15 each for Knight Riders. Mukhtar of Desert King Waterproofing was the man of the match.

Dishkyaon 8 (105) knocked out Men In Blue (97) to win the C division. Men In Blue got off to a very good start scoring 72 in eight overs but lost steam in the next eight and could manage only 97 in their allotted 16 overs. Ehsan (25) was the top scorer for Men in Blue while Suhas (4/-9) was the best bowler for Dishkyaon 8. Sensible batting with each pair scoring more than 20 runs each saw Dishkyaon 8 cruise to victory. Manav (23) top scored for Dishkyaon 8. Suhas of Dishkyaon 8 was declared man of the match.
