Australia will play Afghanistan in a one-off ODI at Sharjah on Saturday ahead of three one-day internationals against Pakistan on Aug. 28, 31 and Sept. 3. With temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius (104 F), matches won’t start until 6 p.m. local time and finish around 2 a.m.

Rixon, who is temporarily taking over from head coach Mickey Arthur for the ODIs, says players experienced similar conditions while in India.
