Aslam Slams Unbeaten Ton to Put UAE on Top

ABU DHABI - Naeemuddin Aslam scored an unbeaten century to guide UAE to 314 for the loss of nine wickets at stumps on day one of the four-day ICC Intercontinental Shield Cricket Tournament against Uganda at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday.

Aslam mixed caution with aggression to make an unbeaten 120 from 202 balls. He slammed 15 fours. Aslam will resume UAE’s innings with Qasim Zubair, who was unbeaten on three.

Earlier, put into bat, UAE lost opener Arfan Haider early but the other opener Arshad Ali and Khurram Khan put in strong performances.

Arshad Ali scored 33 from 67 balls with two boundaries, while Khurram Khan cracked 87 from 128 balls with 15 boundaries.

Uganda’s Nsubuga Frank snapped up three wickets.
