Bangladesh on Wednesday defeated Pakistan by 37 runs to clinch a spot in the final of the 2018 Asia Cup being played in Dubai.

Their opponent: Team India.

Both the teams are in good form, with India's openers Shikhar Dhawan (327) and Rohit Sharma (269) being among the top three run scores in the tournament -- at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively.

Between them, at No. 2, is Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim with 297 runs.

Bangladesh's bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan are among the top wicket-takers in the tournament, with eight and seven wickets, respectively.

Also among the top are India's Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, with seven wickets each.

So while sentiments may say India has the upper hand in the final considering the form they are in, and after having beaten Bangladesh in the Super Four stage by seven wickets, Bangladesh have in the past pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

The teams have played 35 one-day internationals against each other, counting from 1988, of which Bangladesh has won five. Two matches were washed out yielding no result. The rest were won by India.

Here are the five times Bangladesh have defeated India:
