ZCA, who opted to bat first, seemed to have made the right decision as they put on 182 for the loss of four wickets in the 25 overs match. ZCA openers, Anirudh Ramachandran and Wasim Ahmed set the pace with some aggressive batting. Anirudh scored 45 runs off 52 ball, hitting five boundaries while Wasim took only 49 balls to reach his score of 61 runs. Wasim’s knock contained four towering sixes and six boundaries. Sriram Guru (33) and Yasir Mohammad (21 not out) also made useful contributions to the ZCA total.
Insportz Club made an identical start as their openers Yash Shodhan and Aniket Rodrigues kept the scoring rate with some fine stroke play. Yash scored 29 off 28 balls while Aniket raced to 66 runs off just 38 balls. Aniket’s innings contained five sixers and an equal numbers of boundaries. Later, Kuldeep continued the good show with an unbeaten 35 off 22 balls, which included two sixers and couple of boundaries.
Insportz Club in the end cruised home as they scored 185 runs for the loss of five wickets and 1.2 over to spare. Aniket was named the man of the match.
In the Corporate division 20 overs match, Vertex Contracting defeated Cool & Cool by five wickets at the Zabeel Park ground.
Batting first, Cool & Cool, who had lost their opening match, scored a decent total of 132 runs for eight wickets. Shabahat tops cored with 49 runs in just 44 balls while Owais hit 26 off 23. Vertex’s Shibu took three wickets for 25 runs while Joseph (2 for 25) and Biju Nair (2 for 25) also provided some
