This is part of the national sterilisation programme that starts today (Thursday) March 26 at 8pm and will run until Sunday, March 29 at 6am. The programme will see the sterilisation of all public places, government departments and the streets across the country.
Taking to Twitter, Sharjah Police posted a video in which all patrols can be seen supporting the sterilisation drive in the emirate.
In the video, vehicles can be seen spraying the streets and green areas with cleaning agents in coordination with the teams of the municipality.
Earlier, Sharjah Police called on the public to stay home, with police patrols broadcasting #StayHome messages and asking people on the street to return to their homes and avoid gatherings and crowded areas.
