Dubai Economy ordered a total of 175 establishments to close last year for failure to comply with Covid-19 precautionary measures in the emirate.

The authority carried out 140,000 inspection visits in 2020 and issued 2,100 fines and warnings last year to those who violated health and safety guidelines put in place to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Inspection teams worked around the clock to ensure compliance, carrying out comprehensive checks and covering various regions in the emirate.

The UAE has been cracking down on violators, in light of rising Covid cases in the country.
