Dubai - Ministry clarifies that no new course material or subject has been introduced.
This comes after the ministry on Thursday stated: "Schools have been directed to allocate three minutes of each lesson for a period of two weeks to educate students about Covid-19."
The ministry also clarified that no new course material or subject has been introduced on this topic as being circulated on certain news sites.
Speaking to some educational heads on the matter, they feel this awareness is imperative for pupils now.
Zubair Ahmad, Head HR & administration, Springdales School Dubai, averred that schools are awaiting a formal circular on the same from the authorities.
He said: "We haven't formally received any circular on the matter. However, we are aware of the issue. We are eager to incorporate the mentioned education as per the guidelines."
Dr Aishah Siddiqua, director of Dubai National School, reiterated similar sentiments.
She said: "We shall definitely integrate the three-minute lesson in our online lessons for now - for a couple of weeks. I feel it's a good initiative. It's important to educate our students formally about the subject."
