Covid-19 vaccines cannot cause Covid-19 infections.
Busting the popular myth about how coronavirus vaccines can lead to a positive PCR test, Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector, explained: “Taking the Covid-19 vaccine cannot be the reason for a positive PCR result, because all the vaccines adopted in the UAE do not contain an active version of the virus that leads to the disease.
"At any cost, the vaccine will never end up making you sick or infected with Covid 19," she said.
The UAE has conducted over 31 million Covid-19 PCR tests to date, making it one of the top ranking countries to have conducted the most number of tests, she added.
The UAE has provided more than 6 million doses to date and vaccinated 3,614,070 people, thus achieving a rate of 46.61 per cent of the target group.
The vaccination has also been provided to 61.41 per cent of the elderly group, who are currently the top priority group for health authorities in the country.
