UAE Covid vaccine: 85,681 residents vaccinated in 24 hours

Dubai - The UAE continues to be second only to Israel in global vaccine administration rates.

The UAE has vaccinated 85,681 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 5.28 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 53.43.

Bahrain has become one of the first countries in the world to launch a digital Covid vaccine passport.

The country has enabled the BeAware app for citizens and residents to show their immunity status two weeks after receiving both Covid vaccination doses. The antibodies start developing 14 days after receiving the second dose.

Meanwhile, the UAE's national vaccination campaign on Tuesday marked a turning point in the battle against Covid-19 as authorities announced that over 40 per cent of residents have received the jab.
