UAE Covid vaccine: 71,710 residents vaccinated in 24 hours

The UAE has vaccinated 71,710 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 3.18 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 32.21.

On Sunday, Dubai announced the launch of a Vaccine Logistics Alliance to speed up distribution of Covid-19 vaccines around the world.

The alliance will support the World Health Organisation’s COVAX initiative and its efforts to equitably distribute two billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines in 2021.

Health authorities in the emirate have also said they will start offering the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine from today, Sunday, January 31.
