The UAE has vaccinated 31,604 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 5.08 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 51.43.

UAE doctors have advised residents and citizens to continue following quarantine rules as recommended for those who have been exposed to Covid-19 — regardless of whether they have received the jab or not.

The call for caution comes on the heels of the United States’s Centres for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention's recent announcement that those who have received the vaccine against Covid-19 need not quarantine even if they are exposed to the coronavirus.

Doctors in the UAE, however, have said the announcement cannot be followed in the country yet without the approval of the regulatory authorities.

Meanwhile, a new Covid-19 vaccination booth has opened up at The Galleria in Abu Dhabi as part of the government's continued efforts to make access to the vaccine easy and free for all.

The facility can administer five vaccine doses for different people at a time, while ensuring pre-scheduled appointments to maintain social distancing. It is open from Sunday to Thursday between 10am and 7pm.
