UAE Covid vaccine: 157,514 residents vaccinated in 24 hours

The UAE has vaccinated 157,514 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 4.68 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 47.37.

UAE health authorities on Tuesday announced it had crossed the 4.5 million doses mark in its national campaign to vaccinate every eligible individual in the country against Covid-19.

It remains the second leading country in the world after Israel, when it comes to vaccine administration rates to its residents, according to the 'Our World in Data' website.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways announced on Wednesday that it has become the first airline in the world to have its entire flying crew vaccinated against Covid-19.

A majority of them have received the second dose of their vaccine too.
