The UAE’s National Vaccination Programme against Covid-19 has seen over a million residents get vaccinated. On Tuesday, a top official said that the vaccine can be administered to senior citizens in their homes.

“Our message today is to a dear group, our elders. We have prioritised the availability of the vaccine to them,” said Dr Farida Al Hosni, spokesperson for the UAE health sector, as she addressed the weekly Covid-19 briefing on Tuesday.

“Help us protect you, we can visit you at home to assess your medical condition and provide you the vaccine.”

The vaccine is offered for free to residents at more than 150 medical centres across the UAE, she added.
