'Air bubbles' may help revive commercial aviation between countries but will the UAE and India consider such an agreement? Indian Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri appears open to the idea but said the two countries would first review their interim aviation pact to permit UAE charter flights to India and fly back Indian residence visa holders to the UAE on Indian carriers.
"We will see how the operations are conducted in the coming days, and based on that we will review the arrangement. We are barely three days on the start of the operation with the UAE, which began on July 12," said Puri.
"We are at an advanced stage of negotiation of air bubbles between three countries - France, United States of America, and Germany," said Puri.
