Dubai Covid-19: 83,000 teleconsultations done last year

Dubai - The authority has expanded the scope and capacity of this service, especially for Covid-19 patients.

More than 83,000 telemedicine consultations were provided last year as part of the Doctor for Every Citizen service.

“Out of the total consultations done during the period from January 2020 to January of this year, 7251 were medical consultations for Covid-19 patients and 13,437 were Covid-19 related consultations such as queries on vaccination eligibility, screening procedures etc,” revealed the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

The authority has expanded the scope and capacity of this service, especially for Covid-19 patients, said Dr Manal Taryam, CEO of Primary Healthcare at the DHA.

“The DHA has increased the number of doctors from 10 to 52 and the number of stations used for virtual consultations from six to 16 stations. Doctors were also trained in sign language to provide this service to people of determination,” she added.

To book a consultation, the patient can download the DHA app or the patient can call the DHA toll free number 800 342 to book an appointment.
