Coronavirus: UAE reports 3,552 Covid-19 cases, 3,945 recoveries, 10 deaths

Dubai - The new cases were detected through additional 170,694 tests.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported 3,552 cases of Covid-19, along with 3945 recoveries. 10 deaths were also reported.

The new cases were detected through additional 170,694 tests.


More than 24.2 million tests have been carried out across the country so far.

The total number of cases in UAE as on January 22 stand at 270,810 while total recoveries are 243,267. Death toll rises to 776.


On Thursday, the UAE approved its third Covid vaccine for emergency use. Russia's Sputnik vaccine got the nod from authorities, as part of comprehensive efforts to ensure residents' safety.

Dubai also moved to tighten restrictions on Thursday, suspending all live entertainment permits issued in the emirate — as well as non-essential surgeries for a month.

Meanwhile, over one million Indians expats, who flew home last year due to Covid-related repercussions, have now returned to the UAE, according to visiting Indian minister V. Muraleedharan.
