The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday reported 2,051 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 2,741 recoveries and 8 deaths.

The new cases were detected through 236,988 additional tests.
Over 34.4 million tests have been carried out to date as part of the UAE's massive screening campaign.
The total number of cases in UAE as on March 17 are 432,364 while total recoveries stand at 413,477. The death toll rises to 1,414.
The Philippines is suspending the arrival of foreigners and some returning citizens as it battles a renewed surge in Covid-19 cases and increasing infections of new variants.
Foreign citizens and returning nationals who had not been working overseas will not be able to enter the country from March 20 until April 19, according to a statement issued by the coronavirus task force late on Tuesday.
The UK too issued revised Covid-related restrictions in its latest bid to fight the pandemic in the country. Flights from four more countries will not be allowed to enter England from March 19, officials said.
According to a tweet on Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office official Twitter account, flights from Ethiopia, Oman, Qatar and Somalia will not be allowed to enter UK from 4am on March 19.
Authorities in the UAE on Tuesday announced that Taraweeh prayers — the special prayers offered during the holy month of Ramadan — can be hosted in mosques across the country.
The maximum duration of the prayers (Taraweeh and Isha that precedes it) has been capped at 30 minutes and all Covid safety protocols will be in place, they said.
