Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls will now open at 12pm and close by 8pm, Khaleej Times has learnt. The decision has been made to 'contain the spread of the Covid-19' coronavirus.

"As of March 18, Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls across the region will begin operating between the hours of 12pm and 8pm only," said Majid Al Futtaim in an official statement to Khaleej Times.

It added, "These reduced hours have been put in place to afford further cleaning and sanitization of our assets, ensuring a safer experience for our customers. The safety and wellbeing of our valued employees, retail partners, and customers remains our number one priority."

However, the reduced operating hours do not apply to Carrefour, pharmacies or clinics within the MAF mall. Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira have also updated the timings on their Google business listings.
