The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (Added) on Monday set terms and conditions for food trucks to resume operations in the Capital.
Rashed Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, Under-secretary, Added, said the new guidelines were similar to those for resuming operations of restaurants outside shopping malls.
All food trucks employees should undergo Covid-19 test. All staff must wear face masks and gloves, and apply social distancing between employees and customers.
Employees showing any Covid-19-related symptoms should be directed to visit the nearest healthcare centre for testing. In case of any staff contracting the virus, the food truck must stop operations.

Operators must provide hand sanitisers at payment counters and within the food truck.
Cleaning and sterilising the food truck is required and all surfaces, utensils, tools and equipment must also be cleaned and sterilised.
Employees should ensure the use of single-use cutlery and packaging materials.
They also must limit the number of staff inside food trucks to a maximum of two.
Food delivery staff must adhere to applying a distance of at least two metre between them during their shifts and when picking up the order and delivering it.
They have to wear face masks and gloves and change them within prescribed hours.
Operators should ensure daily checks of an employee's body temperature.
Staff should follow health practices, including avoiding coughing, spitting, and smoking during work hours as well as encouraging customers to use card payments.
Employees should refrain from dealing with trucks' generators, oil change, re-fuelling, or maintenance.
Hand sanitisation should be continuously done with sterilisers and soap, especially before and after dealing with credit-card machines and banknotes.
Customers must not come near the truck and inside the cooking area.
Added's inspection teams, in cooperation with its strategic partners, will conduct field inspection visits to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions.
