Senior health officials visited a field hospital in Sharjah on the first day of Eid Al Fitr to meet medics and patients - to boost their morale.
The visit comes as part of the directives by the UAE's leadership on the keenness to support the front-line of defence on all occasions and to highlight their important role and sacrifice, amid Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, visited the Expo Centre field hospital to support the medical cadres in the national mission to beat the virus.
MoHAP's delegation also toured the Sharjah's Training & Development Centre to congratulate the medical and technical cadres of the 'Virtual Doctor' team on the advent of Eid and to identify the efficiency of Covid-19 Virtual Information Center in helping residents assess their health status in case of being suspected of Covid-19, as well as to curb rumours.
Sharing the joy of Eid with the medics

"We wanted to show our great support to all the members of the front-line of defence whose efforts and sacrifices have significantly contributed to increasing the recovery rates in the county, thanks to the outstanding humanitarian and health care provided by the supervisory and medical cadres. We are grateful to them for their tremendous role in immunizing the society against Covid-19," said Al Olama.

He added: "We assured them that they're indispensable assets of the country that will never forget their sacrifices in the time of crises. We will get through this crisis through those sacrifices and the noble humanitarian values entrenched by the UAE's leadership."
"Harnessing the potential of the health sector to serve the health of society is a national priority, according to the directives of the leadership. To that end, our medical task forces are well-determined and confident that they will control Covid-19, thanks to the unlimited support of the wise government with resources and capabilities and its constant communication with field cadres to enhance positivity and motivation, something that instilled confidence in society.
Supporting patients and boosting their morale
Commending the massive efforts exerted by the medical staff to provide the best health care to patients according to the approved treatment program, Al Olama emphasized MoHAP's keenness to support patients' morale during the treatment stage and to spend Eid with them to mitigate their psychological burden, as well as to show to the country's solidarity with them and to harness the potential in the fight against Covid-19.
