Dubai Economy has shut two more shops and issued warning to another 81 outlets for violating safety and precautionary regulations announced prior to reopening of commercial outlets after the completion of sterilisation programme to contain Covid-19.
Dubai Economy tweeted that it fined one company and found 1,064 complying with the measures on Sunday.
DED shared videos of a tailor shop on its Twitter handle, showing expat workers crammed in a shop and ignoring social distancing. They were busy stitching new dresses when the inspection team arrived at the shop.

Another photo was shared of a mobile shop where people had crowded again, ignoring social distance norms.
The inspections started with the market opening time in the morning and lasted till the markets closed.
Dubai Economy directed traders to comply with the Covid-19 precautionary measures, such as, wearing face masks and gloves, ensuring social distancing, and not conducting commercial activities between 10pm to 6am during the National Sterilisation Programme unless previous circulars exempted the activity from closing and allowed 24/7 operations.
Dubai Economy also called on consumers to report any violation of Covid-19 precautionary guidelines via the Dubai Consumer App available on Apple, Google, and Huawei stores, by calling 600545555, or on the Consumerrights.ae website.
