Umm Al Quwain government has announced the reopening of public places, including shopping centres, cinemas and parks among others.
In a statement issued on social media, the Executive Council of government of Umm Al Quwain announced that shopping centers, malls and public areas will re-open completely across the emirat - with precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, Covid-19.
According the circular posted online by the the department of economic development, all cinemas, museums, cultural and historical sites, parks and public beaches, playing grounds and theme parks will be allowed to reopen.
The decision also includes gyms and fitness centers, swimming pools, sports and culture clubs. Visitors must adhere to precautionary measures at all times, including social distancing and wearing face masks.

All centers, shops and malls will not operate during national sterilization programme hours that is from 10pm to 6am. The circular added that all malls and shopping centers must ensure thorough disinfection of the premises.

All meetings and conferences will remain suspended - people must use web conferencing tools to hold their meetings. Wedding halls will also remain closed, the council added.
Umm Al Quwain Municipality has been carrying out inspections in the emirate to catch violators of Covid-19 safety rules - 199 inspections were conducted to monitor the precautionary measures at men and women's salons, with warnings issued to 11 establishments while three others were fined.
It added that 286 inspections were carried at supermarkets and grocery shops, which resulted in warning 64 establishments while 2 establishments were fined.
