UAE fights coronavirus: Philippines Ambassador on ground to help Filipinos in quarantine

Abu Dhabi - An expat, who is under quarantine after testing positive, thanked the embassy for reaching out to them.

Filipinos in the Capital, who are affected by the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, were offered assistance by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
Under the 'Bayanihan' outreach initiative, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn M Quintana and other embassy officials joined the ERC team on the ground to offer relief boxes, including food items, to 22 Filipinos who were placed under quarantine and sought urgent help.
An expat, who is under quarantine after testing positive, thanked the embassy for reaching out to them with the food packs.
"We pray that with this assistance, our next Covid-19 test results will be negative. And that we will be on the road to recovery. We wish the embassy staff good health so they can perform their best in serving the Filipinos in UAE."
Quintana underlined that the ERC has always been a reliable partner to support the Filipino community in times of calamities.
"We thank the UAE, its leaders and people, for this generous assistance from ERC. It shows how the local community cares for Filipinos in the UAE as truly their own brothers and sisters, made even more significant as the celebration of the holy month of Ramadan begins," Quintana said.
Such aid was also offered to vulnerable groups in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, as well as Dubai with logistical assistance provided by the Filipino Social Club through their 'FilSoc Cares' project.
