The UAE has vaccinated 106,615 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 3.44 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 34.79.

The UAE on Sunday registered the highest daily average of Covid-19 vaccine doses with 220,000 jabs.
“In line with the directives of our leadership that prioritises human health and the great efforts of the health sector, today we have reached the highest daily vaccine doses,” the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority had tweeted yesterday.
The coming days and weeks will determine if the massive nationwide vaccination drive is taking effect. It must be noted that the vaccine starts producing antibodies within 14 days after a person takes the second dose of the vaccine.
In an interview last month, Dr Nawal Al Kaabi, Chairperson, National Covid-19 Clinical Management Committee, had expressed confidence that the number of cases will decline soon.
“The only way to control the numbers is by following the precautions and taking the vaccine. The number of cases will fall, but it will take time. The vaccine is effective 14 days after taking the second dose. So, till we see that effect, it will take some time,” said Dr Nawal, who is the Principal Investigator of Phase 3 Clinical Trials.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has secured 17 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, out of which 35-40 per cent (6 to 6.8 million doses) will be available within the first quarter of the current year, the media reported on Sunday.
"Happy to share that in addition to the 500,000 doses of Sinopharm, almost 7 million does (doses) of AstraZeneca to be made available in Q1 and given to the public free of cost," Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said in a tweet on Saturday night.
AstraZeneca’s Covishield made-in-India doses will be part of Pakistan’s free Covid vaccination drive under the global Covax alliance, according to Dr Sultan.
