Abu Dhabi has launched a new initiative whereby senior citizens and residents can now receive Covid-19 jabs at home.

The home vaccination service is aimed at prioritising the protection of the vulnerable in the society.

The "We Reach You, Wherever You Are" initiative was launched by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC), in cooperation with the Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office, and the Majalis Affairs Office at Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Abu Dhabi Health Service (Seha), Family Development Foundation (FD), and Abu Dhabi Media.

Eligible citizens and residents in the Capital can book the home vaccination service by calling Seha’s toll-free number 800 50.

In February, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) had also announced that the elderly can avail of at-home vaccination services provided. They have to call 800 11111 or visit their nearest health centre to avail the facility. The service is open to both Emiratis and expats. The callers will receive an SMS to confirm the appointment.

MoHAP has teamed up with the Ministry of Community Development and local social service departments in each emirate to provide the service.

In Sharjah, the home vaccination service was introduced in January. It can be booked via the call centre of the Social Services Department at 800700.

The service has also been made available in Ajman, where eligible ones who wish to avail of the home vaccination service can book an appointment via the toll-free number 80070.
