Such surgeries were suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.

The procedures that can resume effective Sunday include cosmetic surgeries and dental ones that can be done under local anesthesia.

Physiotherapy and Kairo practices can also resume.

All outpatient visits and scheduled surgeries for urgent medical conditions were already allowed earlier.

Covid safety

A copy of the recent circular issued by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), which Khaleej Times has studied, states that private medical facilities will offer the services under strict Covid safety guidelines.

These include:

>Committing to only 30 per cent working capacity.

>All personnel should wear masks and gloves and protective equipment.

>Everybody must have their temperatures checked daily and staff must undergo PCR tests every week.

>Have floor stickers in waiting areas to ensure social distancing.

>Ensure that medical appointments do not lead to crowds.

>Patients must be told to not bring their children to the facilities unless they are the ones undergoing the procedures.
