Sharjah intensifies coronavirus safety inspection ahead of Eid Al Fitr

The Sharjah Municipality has completed its preparation for Eid based on systematic plans and precautionary measures in light of the current Covid-19 conditions.

Thabet Al Tarifi, Director of the Sharjah Municipality, said the municipality was keen to continue to provide its services and perform its role and tasks in a way that ensures the completion of public transactions to provide services to them in various ways, during these holidays.
"This year, Eid Al Fitr falls in a manner different from previous years, which requires a greater commitment to health education and awareness among society members," he added.

Al Tarifi explained that the central slaughterhouse receives the public according to the regulations set by the municipality. It will be operational from 8am until 1pm. People need to book an appointment before coming to the slaughterhouse by calling 065691905.
Al Tarifi warned the public against dealing with illegal butchers because of the danger they pose to health, which exposes the consumer to various diseases.  
The butchers lack medical expertise needed to judge the validity of the sacrifices for consumption and their lack of knowledge of the legal conditions for slaughter. They can't identify whether animals are free from infectious diseases which can be transferred to human. The butchers also don't stick to proper disposal of the slaughter waste that leads to pollution of the environment.
Al Taraifi warned against using fireworks and firecrackers because they pose a danger to members of the society, especially children. The municipality prohibits their sale and organises continuous inspection campaigns to ensure that they are not sold and dealt with in the city of Sharjah.  

The municipality called upon the public to contact them via the call centre on 993 to report any violations.
