As part of the precautionary measures to guarantee the safety of commuters, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has limited the number of people in an elevator at metro stations to two at a time.
Announcing the new guideline through its social media handle, the transport authority tweeted: "With the resumption of #DubaiMetro trips, #RTA has issued new preventive measures in the station, including restricting the number of elevator use to two people per elevator."
The Dubai's Metro and bus services resumed from April 26 and since then has rolled out comprehensive preventive measures to be followed by cmmuters to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Last month, RTA had affixed 170,000 stickers bearing the new icons in various means and stations of public transport such as Dubai Metro, public buses, taxis, limousines and customer happiness centres.
These stickers promoted awareness on how to contain spread of the virus while using public transport. Dubai had announced a unified signage on safe practices and etiquette to combat Covid-19 in public transport and other public spaces last month.
The signage directory implemented on public transport, uses icons and colours to educate the public about the importance of preventive practices, such as wearing masks and observing physical distancing. It also seeks to promote good practices such as wearing gloves, using sterilisers and handwashing.
