New Covid strain: Bahrain leader's message to residents, 3-week restrictions announced

Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, has addressed a Covid-19 update message to all citizens and residents, in the public and private sector, Bahrain News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The Bahraini leader commended the vigilance and discipline of citizens and residents in supporting the Kingdom’s Covid-19 response.

He noted that Bahrain has performed admirably in the face of the pandemic due to a strong collective community response by Team Bahrain, bringing together all in the Kingdom.


Prince Salman reminded citizens and residents that a swift return to normalcy will only be achieved by Team Bahrain's commitment and adherence to preventative measures in the coming three weeks, strictly maintaining social distancing and limiting in-person contact to close social circles.

He urged everyone to protect themselves, their friends and their families by registering for vaccination.

He expressed his sincere appreciation to the Kingdom’s first responders for their courage, dedication and service at this time of unprecedented challenge.
