In the first two days after the torrential rain on Tuesday, around 1,244 flights were cancelled
If you have spotted any violation of Covid safety rules in Dubai, report it to the police and help the city fight the spread of the virus. All you have to do is dial 901 and choose option number 8 or log into the smart app of the Dubai Police.
In a video posted by Arabic daily Al Bayan, the city’s police have shown how their call centre responds to reports about violations of precautionary measures.
One caller got in touch with the authorities through the hotline and told them about a violation he saw inside a restaurant. The police on the other end of the line then asked for more details about the incident and assured that necessary action shall be taken.
Safety rule breaches at eateries, hotels and salons make up majority of the reports they receive from the public, the police said.
Hotline 901 — the main channel for non-emergency calls — is open 24/7, the officers reminded. They urged Dubai residents to continue providing information about any behaviour or incident that puts public safety at risk, especially in the time of Covid-19.
