Covid: Sharjah residents report parties, mask violations to police

Sharjah Police have launched special cell to deal with Covid complaints.
The Sharjah Police have hailed residents for reporting Covid safety violations. This, they said. is helping them fight the pandemic.

A top official said that not wearing of masks and social and family gatherings top the list of violations.
Residents can call on 901, use the Sharjah Police app ‘Haris’ or email at covid19@shjpolice.gov.ae to report a violation.
A top police official said the they receive various reports of violations through these channels, and violators are penalised accordingly.
He said their smart app is easy to use and allows people to report violations and crimes on the go.
He said the police have created a crisis cell to manage the pandemic. This cell manages complaints and information relating to Covid-19 received via the app, email or on the call centre number 901 around the clock.
